In this lovely, mindful class with local artist Jade Taylor, you’ll create a series of individual monoprints, experimenting with the positive and negative shapes of plant life to build layered compositions. Working with natural botanical specimens, you’ll explore the use of texture, colour and text, mixing translucent inks directly on the plant material to produce beautifully unpredictable results.

As the workshop progresses, you will refine your technique and colour palette, selecting your favourite print to be finished with a bevel window mount, ready to take home and display.
What to expect:
  • Guided exploration of botanical monoprint techniques
  • Experimentation with layering, positive and negative space, and text
  • Colour-building using translucent inks and natural materials
  • A mounted botanical monoprint to take home
  • A relaxed, supportive environment with expert tuition
This workshop is suitable for all abilities — no prior printmaking experience is required. You may wish to bring your own apron – if you don’t have one, don’t worry, you can borrow one!
