Textile art workshop with Cas Holmes - Sunday 18th November
Sunday 18th November - 12-4pm at our shop on Cranbrook High Street with Cas Holmes. £40 per person - price includes some materials, tea, coffee and nibbles. You will also receive some exclusive Happy & Glorious vouchers to be used in the shop.
Come and spend an afternoon with textile artist and writer Cas Holmes.
We will look at transforming paper and combining it with textile and stitch
to create small samples. We will explore ideas related to the use of image and pattern and the creation of textile papers (momigami). Textures and surfaces will be created with photocopies, waste papers and cloth. The focus will be on hand stitching as an extension of mark making, and various means of layering.
Bring along an object from home and images of the natural world to inspire you. Materials, some fabrics and papers will be supplied but please bring any fabrics, trims or ephemera that have meaning.
Trained in fine art and with a love of natural world, Cas uses found materials and textiles in her work, fascinated by their prior history and the hands that once held them.
If one of our teachers has to cancel a lesson then we will try to organise another time. If you can’t make that class then we will send you a full refund.
We require at least 10 days notice if you would like to change or cancel your workshop. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send someone else in your place, but please let us know as early as possible.
