Kentish Map Book workshop with Anne Kelly - Sunday 23rd August
Sunday 23rd August 1-4pm at our shop on Cranbrook High Street with Anne Kelly.
£35 per person - price includes tea, coffee and nibbles. You will also receive an exclusive Happy & Glorious voucher to be used in the shop on the day. Come and spend an afternoon with textile artist and writer Anne Kelly.
Travel, memory and collections remind us of places we have been or would like to visit. Make a personal and meaningful piece for a special place (actual or imagined) of your choice. Working from techniques explored in her new book ‘Textile Journeys’, Anne will be using printing, fabric collage, fabric and paper lamination and hand stitching. You will be aiming to complete a folding book during the one day course.
Look through your collections, selecting old and new pieces of fabric, ephemera anddecorative paper to use for your piece. It is helpful to decide on a theme or place and colour scheme before you choose your materials. Any specific links to Kent and Kentish towns are useful.
Please bring: • Copies or transfers of photos, travel ephemera (maps, post cards, postage stamps, ticket stubs etc), poem/lyrics • Printing blocks or rubber stamps relating to your theme • strong fabric A3 size(cotton, linen union, thin canvas) • plain and patterned fabric scraps to go with your theme • organza (clear or light colours) A3 size strip and scraps • scraps of fabric/paper, plain or patterned for printing • handstitching kit • ribbon
If one of our teachers has to cancel a lesson then we will try to organise another time. If you can’t make that class then we will send you a full refund.
We require at least 10 days notice if you would like to change or cancel your workshop. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send someone else in your place, but please let us know as early as possible.
